Home Remedies for Leg Cramps
Cramps are normally due to calcium deficiency. The cramps in your legs normally occur after your leg has been in the same position for a few hours and then moved briskly. Shaking or moving your leg then seems impossible and care must be taken not to exert force on the foot in force. Do not attempt you stand on the foot as you are at risk of tearing the ligaments.

A few home remedies can take care of the issue as it is not a very serious matter.

As the cramps are caused due to calcium deficiency, increasing calcium in your diet is a must. Drink a warm glass of milk before you sleep every night and add a spoon of sugar to it. The sugar eliminates the risk of further attacks. Taking a supplement helps as well.

In order to help the muscle to relax drink some herbal tea that has a chamomile base. The herb helps to soothe the tension in the muscles and avoids muscle strains and pulls.

Soak your foot in warm water to release the muscle tension or take a hot shower. Let the warm water run on your feet for a while to relieve the stress in your foot.

Dink a bottle of tonic water. The quinine in the drink helps to cure you of your pain. Do not over do this as it has negative effects as well. Pregnant women should not try this as the presence of quinine is harmful to your child’s development and may result in birth defects.

Use a hot water bottle on your foot throughout the night as you sleep.

Massage your foot gently with soothing herbal oils like lavender and ylang ylang to reduce the muscle tension. Do not exert too much pressure on your leg though.
