You are dealing with baby constipation and that’s stressing you out because of not knowing what to do. Here are simple, yet very effective infant constipation remedies.
As a mother you may feel terrible and would want to get miracles to relieve your baby from this terrible condition. I totally understand what you’re going through as I’m a mother too and have had that situation more than a few times.
Here are some baby constipation remedies:
For babies under two months old, you should add about one ounce of water daily to their drink. Some doctors my advice not giving water to infants under the age of 6 months. However, as long as you give him pure water, you should have no worries about any side effects.
If formula is to blame for the condition, then consider changing the type and see if that makes a difference.
For babies that are between the ages of two to six months, give him one to two teaspoons of Karo Syrup diluted with one once of water.
For a baby who is six months and older, you can give him baby cereal that are high in fiber. Don’t give him rice cereal - that’s usually bad news for those suffering with this dreadful condition - especially when combined with milk.
Prune juice is another remedy that works like a miracle. You should make water, pear and apple juice part of your child’s diet.
If your child is giving you a hard time drinking water on its own, mix it with his or her favorite juice.
For some kids milk tends to be the cause of constipation. For a toddler that’s older than a year old you can try giving him soy milk instead of regular milk. That’s what I did and it was easy to achieve soft and manageable stool because of it.
Although, the above infant constipation treatments work within a few hours, if your child is suffering with chronic condition and needs a relief right away, you can give him a baby size suppository which you will find at any drug stores.
